Raster showing the average photosynthetic active radiation (PAR) at the sea surface between 2005 and 2009, values in mol.phot.m^-2.d^-1. Created for use in the 2019 EUSeaMap, and updated in 2018 in order to cover Iceland and the Barents Sea. In 2022 the coverage was extended to the Caspian Sea. Dataset's spatial extent covers European Seas including the Azores and Canary Islands, but excluding the eastern Baltic. Created by ACRI-ST under contract to the EMODnet Seabed Habitats consortium using data from the European Space Agency MERIS instrument. From Salquin et al (2013): "Daily mean PAR (in mol┬Àphotons┬Àd-1┬Àm-2) was evaluated using the algorithm developed by Frouin in 1989 and updated in 2011 for MERIS using Level 1 Reduced Resolution [1km]. The daily fields are averaged temporally over the period 2005 to 2009."

A map demonstrating the habitat type and geology of the area including the areas of protection and conservation. These interpreted maps of biotopes and substrates in Lyme Bay are based on UKHO sidescan seabed texture data and benthic species survey data (including Seasearch and other dive data, grab sampling and drop video data) gathered for Devon Wildlife Trust's Lyme Bay Marine Spatial Mapping project. Available from DBRC website and electronic data
